COVID19 Response

This page serves as a resource to help you stay informed on some of the latest information in regards to the COVID19 pandemic.  It is not meant to be comprehensive, however, there are links and tools from the MN State Health Department and Kandiyohi, Stearns, and Meeker Counties to help us and our neighbors stay safe.

Letter to Nordland Community

March 18, 2020

To the Nordland Community,

We continue to closely monitor the statewide and local responses to the COVID19 pandemic.  It has and will continue to be an ongoing and fluctuating situation. In following the current recommendations from both state and county government, Nordland will extend the cancelling of all worship and church events for the foreseeable future. In this time of uncertainty, our response as a faith community will be to move forward with attentiveness and grace with one another and our neighbors. We will continue to be the Church!

Moving forward, we are finding new ways to stay connected, paying attention to those most vulnerable, and to continue to provide spiritual care for our community. Pastor Mark will be sharing a message online via Facebook and on our website every Sunday to help ground us together in faith. If you do not have online access and would like a DVD of weekly messages, please let the office know. There will be also be other online resources and opportunities using technology made available in the days and weeks ahead.

We also need your help to play a role in supporting and loving our community. We are putting together a team to make regular phone calls to help check in on our community and our neighbors. It’s about saying hello, making sure people stay connected, and continuing our calling to love our neighbor. A system is also being set up so that we can help deliver groceries, supplies, DVD’s, other resources, etc. to some of our people for whom this would be helpful. Please let Pastor Mark or the church office know if you are interested in helping make phone calls or making deliveries.

In regards to pastoral care, Pastor Mark and our communion visitors will not be able to meet with you in person, however, please let Pastor Mark know if you have specific needs. He is always available to be reached via phone or email. The office will continue to keep a list of prayer concerns, and if you would like to be included in our prayer chain let the office know. If you are calling the church office, please leave a voice message.

We thank you for your patience, understanding, and your continued prayerful and financial support of the Nordland community, as we look ahead to loving one another and our neighbor in the weeks ahead. Remember, we are not alone. God is with us!

Grace and peace to you all,

Nordland Lutheran Congregational Council

Pastor Mark Kopka
